Christmas Holiday Trip to Cairo and Luxor

Get ready for an exciting day ahead! After enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Cairo, you'll meet our accredited Egyptologist guide, who will accompany you to the Giza Plateau. Here, you'll visit the Great Pyramid of King Cheops, which is the only man-made wonder of the ancient world largely still in existence. You'll also get to see the pyramids of Chephren and Mycerinus, the famous Sphinx, and the temple of the valley in front of the great statue. Our classic tour of the plateau includes a panoramic tour to see all the pyramids of Giza together and capture some great photos.

Next, we'll take you to Saqqara to visit the Step Pyramid complex and the world's first all-stone building, the Djoser Pyramid. The tour includes entrance to the pyramid of Teti, which has the most spectacular interior of all accessible pyramids. You'll also get to explore the tombs of the nobles of Saqqara, which offer a glimpse into the daily life of ancient Egypt, with its activities inscribed and painted on the walls and corridors of these 4000-year-old tombs.

After a lunch break, we'll take you to Memphis, the capital of the pharaohs for one thousand years and an important religious and cultural center throughout the three thousand years of ancient Egyptian civilization. Here, you'll visit the open-air museum famous for having the alabaster sphinx, the second-largest made out of an eighty-ton block of marble, and the fallen gigantic statue of Ramses the Second. Afterwards, we'll take you back to your hotel in Cairo for an overnight stay.

You will have breakfast at your hotel in Cairo, then around 3:30 pm, transfer to the Cairo airport to catch your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival in Luxor, a representative from Cairo Top Tours will meet and assist you.

You will start your Luxor day tours on the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, the Colossi of Memnon, and the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, also known as the Deir El Bahari temple.

Afterwards, your guide will take you to the East Bank of Luxor to visit the massive Karnak Temple complex. You'll check into your Luxor hotel later and rest before visiting the Luxor Temple, where the night lights create a special atmosphere.

After finishing the day tours in Luxor, you'll be taken back to your hotel for the night.

You will enjoy a delicious breakfast at your Luxor hotel. Around 6 a.m., you will transfer to Luxor International Airport to catch your flight to Cairo.

Upon arrival in Cairo, your private guide will accompany you to begin your day trips around Cairo. First, you will visit the Egyptian Museum, which houses the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in the world, including King Tutankhamun's treasures.

Afterwards, your personal driver and guide will take you to Salah El Din Citadel, including the alabaster mosque of Mohamed Ali, enjoying panoramic views of Islamic Cairo's ancient mosques, minarets, and domes, some over a thousand years old.

You will enjoy lunch at an amazing restaurant, then go to Coptic Cairo to visit the Roman fortress of Babylon, the Hanging Church suspended above its ancient bastions, and the church of St. Sergius with its crypt, where the holy family stayed. You will also visit Ben Ezra Synagogue, said to be the site of the pharaoh's palace where baby Moses was found.

Your guide will continue driving you through Islamic Cairo to spend time with locals in the historic Khan El Khalili bazaar.

You will check into your Cairo hotel and stay overnight.
